Voice Mail Instructions

Bullet Accessing Your Mailbox

  1. Dial your access number or *97 from your premises. Then:
    • Press # if you're calling from the phone your voice mail is assigned to.
    • Enter your seven-digit telephone number followed by the # key, if calling from a different location, OR
    • If using Auto Login and accessing from your home phone no entry is required.
  2. If requested, enter your password, followed by the # key. Your password will be a default or four zeros (0000) until you change it.
  3. If you have any messages, the most recent message will automatically begin playing preceded by the date/time stamp. You can by-pass the date/time stamp by pressing 1 at this time.
  4. To get to the main menu, press the * key.

Bullet Setting Up Your Mailbox

  1. Access your mailbox.
  2. Press 9 from the main menu (Mailbox Set-up).

Bullet Changing Your Password

  1. Access your mailbox.
  2. Press 9 from the main menu (Mailbox Set-up).
  3. Press 2 from t he set-up menu (Change Password).
  4. Enter your new password, followed by the # key. The password is any series of up to 16 digits you choose. You will be unable to access your mailbox without this password, so be sure to choose one you will remember.
  5. To verify, enter your password, followed by the #key.

Bullet Auto Login

From the Set-up menu, you can enable or disable the auto login feature by pressing 4 and following the prompts. The auto login feature allows you to by-pass password entry when calling from the telephone your voice mail is assigned to.

Note: Auto Login in not password protected. Anyone accessing voicemail from your telephone can listen to your messages if Auto Login is enabled unless they press ** to access another mailbox.


Bullet Record Or Change Greeting

  1. Access you mailbox.
  2. Press 9 from the main menu (Mailbox Set-up).
  3. Press 1 from set-up menu (Greeting Options).
  4. Press 2 and record your greeting.
  5. Press # key to end your recording.
  6. Press 1 to listen to your greeting.
  7. Press the * key to return to the main menu.

To end your mailbox set-up session, simply hang up.


Bullet Create Multiple Greetings

From the greeting menu options, you can create multiple greetings by pressing 5 and follow the prompts to choose that specific greeting # (1-9) and record each greeting.


Bullet Retrieving Messages

Once you have accessed your voice mailbox your current messages will begin to play. (If you have older messages that your previously saved, you will be asked if you want to hear new messages or saved ones.

From the main menu press 1 (message retrieval). Then choose between 1 (new message) or 2 (saved message).

Bullet Frequently Asked Voice Mail Questions

Will voice mail answer calls while I'm on the phone or dial up Internet?
Yes, it will. It will also answer if you ignore a call waiting tone.

Is there any equipment involved?
No. Voice mail is a feature that is programmed on your telephone line. There is no equipment, so it is maintenance free!

Can I change the number of rings before voice mail answers?
Yes. You can choose the number of rings between 3-7 at the time you place your order.

How will I know if I have a message?
A stutter dial-tone (a steady beeping tone similar to a busy signal) will alert you that a message is waiting. If your telephone is equipped with a message light indicator, the light will be on when you have a new message.
